According to the latest report by mobile analytics company App Annie, a common Indian spends about 5 hours a day in phone. Which was 4 hours till the first quarter of 2020. As it is known that there has been a significant increase in mobile usage during the Corona period. Now the help of the internet is being taken for almost all the tasks. There has also been an increase in mobile usage due to the same work from home and online classes.
In which areas is the phone used the most?
According to the report, there has been an increase of 20 per cent in the mobile application usage of every Indian on an average between July-September of 2021. Due to which India is ranked number 1 in mobile usage in the world.
Mobile game
Another was during the Corona period where it was difficult to play outdoor games like cricket, football. Due to which the trend of users towards online games appeared to be increasing. As a result, Indians continued to dominate mobile game downloads. According to the report, about 480 million games were downloaded in the first 6 months of 2021, including users of both Android and iOS.
Where on the one hand the gaming world still has a little contribution from India. The most played game during this period was “Ludo King” indigenous. Which has been made by the Indian company Gametion Technologies. However, India’s contribution to the top 1000 most played games is still only 7.6 per cent. Same China tops the table with 60 per cent.
Social networking and video streaming
YouTube is the most viewed video platform with popular applications on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. After the ban on Chinese apps like Tiktok, there has been a lot of growth in the native short video platform, which includes applications like spark and friends.
Shopping and food:
The trend of shopping with the help of the internet has grown from grocery stores to online retailers like Amazon, Flipkart and Mantra. Features like home delivery, cash on delivery are also the main reasons for its growth. Online shopping has seen significant growth in the direct-to-consumer (DTC) model. Let us tell you, with the DTC model, companies are able to connect directly with consumers. Due to which consumers get benefits like loyalty programs, special discounts and promotions.
The same online platforms like Zomato, Swiggy and Bigbasket are also delivering food and vegetables from door to door. Due to which small shopkeepers are getting a lot of benefits. Also, there has been a significant increase in employment such as delivery boys, packaging and home services.
E-payment
By the way, the trend of digital payments had happened even before the Corona period. But even in this, the speed has been seen more than in the early months of 2021. Due to which today the facility of e-payment is visible even in small tea stalls. Let us tell you that UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is used for digital payments. Due to which funds transfer from one account to another is done easily at any time.
