NEW DELHI: Veteran Marathi actor and director Ravindra Mahajani was found dead on Friday in his rented apartment in Xrbia Society in Pune’s Talegaon Dabhade. As per the Talegaon police, he was staying alone in his rented apartment for the past eight months.
Known for his films such as Mumbaicha Fauzdar (1984), Devta, and Kalat Nakalat (1990), Ravindra Mahajani was a well-known actor in the Marathi film industry. He also acted in Hindi movies. His last Hindi movie was Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutta and Kirti Sanon.
Ravindra Mahajani was 77. According to the police, his neighbours found a foul smell coming from his apartment. They contacted the Thalegaon police. Soon a team of police reached there and found his dead body. The police suspect that Ravindra Mahajani might have died three days back.
The police have sent his body for postmortem and the investigation is ongoing to find the exact cause of death.
