NEW DELHI: The Bar Council of India (BCI) recently held the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) for fresh law graduates. According to the council, 1,73,586 advocates had registered for the 17th AIBE, out of which 1,71,402 (98%) candidates appeared for the examination on February 05, 2023.

The AIBE 2023 exam was held in 53 cities and 261 centers across the country. The answer key of AIBE was released soon after the examination. However, it was taken down on the next day due to inconsistency and incorrect answers in different sets of the question paper.
As per information provided by the Bar Council of India on its website – allindiabareexamination.com, AIBE results will be available after February 20, 2023.
Candidates can download their result of AIBE 2023 online by logging into the official registration portal. They will need their AIBE registration number and password to access the result.
AIBE 2023 passing marks
It is mandatory for law graduates to clear the AIBE exam to obtain the Certificate of Practice (CoP) from the BarCouncil of India. AIBE is just a certificate based exam conducted to test the suitability of the advocate in the profession.
Therefore, candidates are only required to score at least 40% marks in the AIBE. Those belonging to SC and ST categories are required to score at least 35% marks.

Candidates who pass the AIBE 2023 exam will get their CoPs by speed post. Alternatively, they can also download their CoPs from the BCI’s application once it is available for download.
